Draft for legal review. This is a starting draft prepared for Matey AI. It has not yet been reviewed by a lawyer. Please have a qualified Australian legal adviser review and finalise it before you publish it or rely on it at go-live.
These SMS Messaging Terms explain how the Matey AI text-messaging service works and apply together with our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. The service is operated by Peter Sun Marketing Pty Ltd, trading as “Matey AI” (“Matey AI”, “we”, “us”, “our”), ABN [ABN — Peter Sun Marketing Pty Ltd], Queensland, Australia.

1. About the Matey number
Matey AI works mainly by text message (SMS). You save your dedicated “Matey” number as a contact in your phone and text it to run your admin — invoicing, receipts, quotes, reminders and scheduling. For a crew, the whole team can text the one Matey number.
The Matey number is for using the service. It is a working service line, not a general enquiry, emergency or support hotline. For account help, contact us at hello@mateyai.com.au or 0411 50 50 51.
2. Your consent to receive SMS
By providing your mobile number and using the Matey number, you expressly consent to send and receive text messages with Matey AI as part of the service. This includes messages relating to your invoices, quotes, receipts, jobs, reminders, and account.
You confirm that:
- The mobile number you provide is yours, or you are authorised to use it, and
- Where a crew member or team member texts the Matey number, they are authorised by you to do so and are aware of these terms.
3. Voice notes and photos
The service is designed for hands-busy tradies, so as well as text you can send:
- Voice notes (for example, spoken instructions), and
- Photos (for example, receipts, expenses or job photos).
By sending voice notes or photos to the Matey number, you consent to us receiving and processing them to provide the service. Please do not send sensitive personal information that is not needed for your admin.
4. Message frequency
Message frequency varies and depends on how you use the service and how much activity is on your account (for example, invoices, reminders and job updates). There is no fixed number of messages.
5. How your messages are used and stored
Message content — including texts, voice notes and photos — is processed and stored to provide the service (for example, to create invoices, capture receipts, schedule jobs and keep your records tidy and BAS-ready for your registered agent). Actions taken through the service are recorded in an audit log. This handling is described in our Privacy Policy.
6. Costs, data and carrier notes
- Standard message and data rates from your mobile carrier may apply to messages you send and receive. These are charged by your carrier, not by Matey AI.
- Message delivery depends on your mobile carrier and network coverage; we cannot guarantee that every message will be delivered or delivered on time.
- SMS is not a secure or encrypted channel end-to-end. Please keep this in mind when sending information.
7. How to opt out (STOP)
You can opt out of Matey AI service messages at any time by replying STOP to the Matey number. You can also contact us at hello@mateyai.com.au to opt out or to update your preferences.
Please note: opting out of SMS means the service can no longer operate by text, which is the main way Matey AI works. If you reply STOP, contact us so we can discuss your account and any alternatives. To resume messages after opting out, reply START or contact us.
8. Keeping your number up to date
Please tell us if your mobile number changes or you no longer control a number you gave us, so we can keep your account secure and messages going to the right place.
9. Changes to these SMS Terms
We may update these SMS Messaging Terms from time to time. The current version, with its “Last updated” date, will always be on mateyai.com.au.
